There’s something about spring that just feels like a fresh start- and when you pair that with a senior year full of big milestones, it’s just something really special. These tulip senior photos were everything I love about spring sessions: soft light, vibrant color, and dresses that move!
We planned this session at Exploration Acres in Lafayette, Indiana during peak bloom, and it absolutely delivered!

If you’ve ever dreamed of photos in a sea of tulips, here’s the truth: the window is tiny. We’re talking a couple of weeks- sometimes less- where everything is at its absolute best.
Exploration Acres plants hundreds of tulips in an 8 acres field, creating rows and rows of vibrant color that feels straight out of a European countryside. It’s stunning, but it also means timing is everything.
This is exactly why I keep a close eye on bloom cycles every year. I’m watching weather patterns, tracking what the farm is reporting about growth, and planning sessions around that “just right” moment- because once the blooms peak, they don’t last long.
If you wait until you see tulips blooming and then reach out, chances are it’s already too late to plan a sessions like this.

For this session, we leaned into soft, romantic styling- and it couldn’t have been a better fit.
Flowy dresses are always one of my go-to recommendations for senior sessions, especially in a setting like this. They add movement, dimension, and just that extra bit of magic when you’re surrounded by something as vibrant as tulips.

There’s a reason these sessions stand out.
Tulip fields aren’t your everyday location- they’re bold, colorful, and completely unique. If you’re wanting senior photos that don’t look like everyone else’s, this is it.
The rows of color, the soft spring light, and the movement of those dresses, are a recipe for pictures like no other! It’s the kind of session that doesn’t just document a season of life- but also leaves you with dreamy images!

If you’re dreaming of tulip senior photos (or any seasonal session, really), planning ahead makes all the difference.
Here’s what I always tell my seniors and their families:
Because here’s the reality:
If you look outside and see the blooms you want, it’s usually too late to start the process.
The best sessions happen when we have time to:

I can’t say this enough- don’t wait.
Spring blooms, summer wildflowers, fall color…they all come and go faster than you think. And sessions like this? They take planning.
When in doubt, just reach out. (Even if you think it’s too early…it’s probably not). Tell me what you’re dreaming of, and I’ll help you map out the best time to make it happen.
Because photos like these don’t just happen by chance- they’re planned, timed, and created with intention.
